Summer Colours

BODYBAG by Jude skirt and top from Picoum

One of the main reasons that I started this blog was so that I could share about brands (especially clothing companies) that design and make their products in Canada. There are so many great Canadian companies that are readily available but sometimes you just have to search a little to find them. When Picoum (www.picoum.com) contacted me it sounded like a website I would love to check out and share with you.

Picoum is an online marketplace that shares a curated collection of hidden gems and also highlights a lot of great Canadian companies – some of which I had heard of before but many of which were new to me. It sells brands like Mondor and Melissa Nepton (both of whom I have seen at Toronto Fashion Week) and then one new brand in particular that stood out to me was BODYBAG by Jude who makes this skirt and top that I am wearing. They have a ton of fun and lovely pieces – like this lobster dress!

As you know, I like to wear colour, especially in the summer and during the day. In reality, this is a pretty darn colourful outfit but the tones all work well together so it still reads as calming which is important. I wore this for dinner the other night and we made a stop at Allan Gardens (one of my fave spots) beforehand. Although I wore this in the evening, this just feels like the perfect sophisticated lunch outfit. (Note to self: make more fancy lunch dates). This bird print top is so lovely (c’mon, who doesn’t love birds?) and is such a versatile item at that. A camisole made out of a quality material can be worn in so many ways. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that this week I bought my first pair of denim shorts (I know, WHAT?!), and I can’t wait for the hot weekend ahead to to pair this cami with them!

If you are interested in purchasing an item off of the Picoum website before August 31, feel free to use the promo code threadsandblooms15 for 15% off. Happy shopping, Friends!!

There are so little brands that actually make their clothes in a country they claim they’re from… Worth appreciating!
