Feeling a little burnt out? If you’re in Toronto a trip to the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie might be just what is in order…at least I sure think so!
Here’s a confession for you: I’m a stresser. At any given time I have a list of about 25 things that I want to get done. In the next hour. I’m not the only one though. I think this feeling of having countless things to do is a side effect of vibrant city life. Do you ever run into a friend downtown and when asked how they are doing they respond “Good! I have so much spare time on my hands!” Nope. Never.
When I was invited to try a treatment at the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie I thought it sounded like a great idea. I ventured up to the 5th floor of The Shangri-La Hotel and booked in for my treatment. Being a newbie to the spa scene I perused the spa menu (for probably way longer than necessary) before deciding on the Divine Body Treatment. It starts with a body scrub of sugar, hibiscus, sesame and grape seed oils. This is followed with a half hour relaxation massage with the Caudalie Divine Oil. Sounds amazing, right? Right. The treatment was relaxing and at the end of my time on the massage table my skin felt smooth.
Before and after your treatment you spend time in the relaxation room (pictured above). This was probably my favourite part of the whole spa experience at the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie. The dark room makes you feel like you are some place really luxurious and special with a mass of lush pillows and dark carved wood. After your treatment you can spend more time in here while you enjoy their Moroccan tea service, snacking on baklava and grapes and sipping on the MOST delicious tea.
The dark halls and calming music at the Miraj Hammam Spa make you feel like you are miles, not floors, away from the busy city, and, for that hour and a half I was calm, relaxed, and more than happy to put my ‘to-do’ list to the back of my mind.
