Sometimes, verrrrry rarely, I’m running a few minutes early for work, I’m wearing something that doesn’t look like it came from a pile on my floor and I manage to do my hair and whip on some make up before heading out the door. When this perfect storm comes to fruition Dan and I rush out the door to do an impromptu blog shoot before we have to be at our desks. That is exactly what happened on this day.
You can tell this is a typical daily outfit because I am wearing my repeat offender clothing items. I am almost embarrassed (but not actually, I value getting a lot of wear out of things!) to link to how many times I have worn these black Zara pants in blog shoots, and these boots are my number ones at the moment. This Goorin Bros. hat (which I talk about purchasing just a couple weeks ago here) is now one of my favourite staples and is perfect for the season. It keeps my head warm as the temperatures dip and it keeps my hair from blowing in my face with the wind (my biggest pet peeve!!!!). This top was a recent purchase from SheIn. It was my first purchase from them after curiously browsing the website for years, and I have to say, I am impressed. Finally, to wear an all neutral outfit isn’t really my style so I threw on this vintage pink silk jacket.
I often get asked how to wear bright colours such as this pink jacket. When I am wearing a bright piece like this I try to keep the rest of my outfit fairly subdued in colour. I am wearing this with black, grey, and white, but that doesn’t mean the pieces have to be boring. The black pants have detail on the knees and the lace on the top brings an interesting and feminine texture.
