Getting Ready Essentials

Daily Skin Essentials

I’ve never been someone who wears a ton of make-up, but there are a few products I like to apply before heading to work everyday. I try to give my face a break from foundations and bronzers and focus on hair, eyes, and skin. Below are a few products that I like to apply before I head out the door to look and feel fresh. It might seem like a lot, but it only takes about 10 minutes flat!

Getting Ready Essentials

1. Tangle Teezer hairbrush c/o
2. Kevin Murphy Anti Gravity Volumizer
3. Moon Rox hair clip
4. Lancome Bienfait Multi-vital SPF 30 moisturizer
5. Benefit ‘Gimme Brow’ eyebrow gel
6. Benefit ‘They’re Real’ mascara
7. Dior Addict Lip Maximizer
8. Blood Orange Eau de Parfum from Anthropologie
9. Essie nailpolish in ‘Fiji’
10. Ok, not an essential, but this candle from Anthropologie smells amazing!

Tangle Teezer Review

I like to keep my hair routine super simple but brushing it daily is the most important step to keeping it healthy and not allowing it to get too tangled. The Tangle Teezer is a great hairbrush to do just that. It’s gentle on my thin hair but gets out the tangles that I develop overnight when I sleep with wet hair. It is also great for brushing out curls without taking away the bounce which is always my fear! After hearing a lot of great reviews about the Tangle Teezer I was excited to try it for myself. When rushing out the door, I will give my hair a brush and then use a bit of Kevin Murphy Anti Gravity serum so it doesn’t get too flat. I like to let my hair air-dry and then use a straightener to fix any odd kinks. If I’m tight for time I’ll skip the straightener and pop a clip in my hair for a sophisticated undone look.

Tangle Teezer Review

The Tangle Teezer is a great size for popping in your purse for a touch up throughout the day.

dior addict lip maximizer review
I recently bought this Dior Addict maximizing lipgloss after months of contemplation ($37 is about $30 more than I usually spend on lip gloss, heh!) but the reviews were so good that I had to give it a try. It tingles a bit at first, as with any plumping lipgloss, but the results are great. My other favourite daily lip gloss is called Colour Whisper by Maybelline which I pick up at the pharmacy. It stains and moisturizes without drying. At only $9 it is something I don’t think twice about buying!

Benefit Mascara
Mascara is my favourite make-up. I am currently using ‘They’re Real’ by Benefit, which seems to be everyone’s favourite! I also like to brush some of Benefit’s ‘Gimme Brow’ on my brows for a bit of darkening as I have light eyebrows. If you have a favourite mascara I would love to hear about it. Let me know!

Essie Fuji Nailpolish
I rarely get my nails done, so painting them myself is something I do often. I love a soft pink at this time of year (hey, I love it at all times of the year!).

Anthropologie Perfume Review
I have never liked wearing perfume but I recently discovered this Blood Orange scent at Anthropologie. I love the fruity scent and the packaging is adorable. It is only $16 and is now a favourite! Score!
