Welcoming Soup Season with Soup Girl

Filed in: Recipes

Local Soup Girl Soups

It’s definitely getting chilly outside. Yesterday, it even snowed a little! While I really don’t enjoy the cold weather, there are some things that come with it that I love. I love warm drinks, warm fires, warm blankets, and warm soup. A friend of mine introduced me to Soup Girl, a company based out of Caledon, Ontario that makes vegan and dry-medley soups that definitely helped me ease into the colder weather last week. I am always happy to find local companies making a great product that I can share with my friends, family, and readers and that’s definitely the case with Soup Girl.

Detox Soup

I tried 3 of Soup Girl’s soups – Curried Cashew, Spicy Coconut Lentil, and The Detox (shown here). I couldn’t believe how DELICIOUS they all were! Even Dan, who, in the past, has been pretty ‘meh’ on the topic of soup, was excited to try the new soups after having the first one and was totally full after our servings. All soups come with a tag with complete nutritional information and tips for garnishing – the Detox suggested garnish was a slice of lemon.

Soup Girl Soups are available online and at many farmers markets and small grocery shops around Southern Ontario (check locations here). All soups can be made in a low sodium version too if requested.

How to Serve Soup Beautifully

I picked up some bread from Sud Forno to accompany our soup on Friday night and set the table with colourful bowls and flowers to set a festive warm mood for a chilly night in.
