With the warm weather finally coming I am inspired to get back into sharing one of my favourite things – seasonal cocktails! Ok, so this cocktail isn’t really seasonal because, despite the couple of warm days we have had, there isn’t actually anything in season here yet. But this feels seasonally appropriate…so that works for me! This citrus mojito is a twist on a traditional mojito recipe. It uses delicious Orangecello that I got from Dillon’s Distillery (read more about Dillon’s here) and freshly squeezed juice from lemons, limes, and grapefruits.
I’m a big fan of mojitos, probably because I loooove mint. Mojitos were the first cocktail I ever learned how to make and they were my introduction to the world of creative cocktails. This definitely veers from the traditional mojito (as I do, not a rule follower here :)) by using agave as the sweetener and an additional alcohol to the rum plus a lot more citrus than usual but the result is still minty and still sweet so it checks the mojito boxes in my book! Learn this one in time for patio season!
A classic mojito recipe but supercharged with a whole lot of citrus! This is a delicious cocktail for the spring!
Prepare 2 glasses with ice.
Muddle the mint and add to a martini shaker along with all of the ingredients except for the sparkling water. Shake with ice until the shaker is cold on the outside.
Divide the drink equally into the 2 glasses and top up with sparkling water. Garnish with fresh mint and citrus slices for looks and flavour!
