Spicy Caesar – ie. the BEST brunch cocktail!
Mmmmmm. Let me introduce to you one of my absolute fave summer drinks – The Spicy Caesar. Are they one of your favourites too? As far as cocktails go, I honestly find that they can be pretty polarizing! Some people absolutely LOVE them and others will say that they ‘just don’t get it’. Obviously, I am one of the people claiming my love for spicy caesars, so, before summer BBQs and after-work drinks on the patio get rolling for the season I wanted to perfect my homemade spicy caesar recipe. Here is what I came up with. If you’re looking for a GREAT spicy caesar recipe, this one’s for you!
I like caesars spicy, so this is a medium spicy recipe. I used Walter Caesar mix as the tomato juice base. Walter Caesar mix is delicious and a great Canadian company, if you are able to get your hands on a bottle of this I highly suggest it! If not, regular Mott’s Clamato juice does the trick just as well.
Second, the garnishes are very important! I have seen some extreme garnishes. One restaurant downtown puts a slider burger on a tooth pick as a garnish. Like c’monnn!? I like to keep mine ‘simple’ and use celery, olives, pickles, and pickled beans. You can use just one, all 3, or a combo of whatever tickles your fancy – you decide!
First, wet the rim of your glass with lime juice and dip it in the rim salt to fully coat the top of the glass.

After you have prepared the rim, fill the cup 3/4 of the way with ice. Pour all of the ingredients below individually into the glasses and give the glass a good stir with a stir stick to mix all the ingredients. Top with the garnishes of your choice on a tooth pick or skewer (at the very least just put in a stock of celery!) and serve with a straw.
Be prepared for the caesar lovers in your life to be asking your secret recipe and the caesar haters in your life to ask ‘HOW you could possibly drink a drink with horseradish and pickle juice in it!?’

The best spicy caesar recipe with a few key mystery ingredients!
Dip the rim of your glass in the lime juice and then into the salt mixture. Fill your glass half way with ice.
Pour all of the spicy caesar ingredients into the glasse and give it a good stir with a stir stick to mix all the ingredients.
Top with the garnishes of your choice on a tooth pick or skewer (at the very least just put in a stock of celery!) and serve with a straw.
