Healthy and homemade granola recipe. Can be modified to include your favourite healthy ingredients!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, combine the oats, nuts, seeds and salt. Add in your fat (olive oil) and sweetener (maple syrup). Combine fully.
Pour the mixture into a pan to add to the oven. Firmly press the granola mixture onto the pan. I used a spatula to really compact it - this will help your granola bake in chunks and not just individual flakes. Place the granola in the oven to bake until it is slightly crisped and browned - about 25 minutes. Watch carefully as depending on how thick your layer of granola is the baking time will differ.
Remove your granola from the oven and allow it to cool. Toss the granola by breaking up the chunks.
Add your finishing touch ingredients - for me this was the coconut chips (Buddha Brands is the best!) and dried fruit (sliced apricots).
Store in a sealed container and enjoy with yogurt, milk, or whatever you choose!
