This is always at this time of year when I start to get excited (and impatient!) for spring. As you know I have a true love for all things local – flowers and produce especially, and where I live these things are in verrrry short supply (maybe non existent?) in the winter. However, come spring, the orchards burst into bloom, the sides of the road turn yellow with daffodils, and strawberry and rhubarb season isn’t far behind. Spring flowers are my favourite. Not only do spring flowers come after a long and dull winter, they truly are some of the most beautiful in my opinion. Each has a special personality that I don’t quite find in any other season. The above list is some of my favourite spring flowers that you will find blooming outside and filling the flower shops between February and May.
